Taking responsibility and creating alliances

An unusual alliance occurred in Birmingham (UK) yesterday, during a march in support of 'people' and 'jobs'.

The alliance was between a prominent Union leader (Tony Woodley) and a prominent Business leader (Lord Jones - or Sir Digby, former CBI Director General, and an outspoken ambassador for enterprise).

These leaders may not always see eye-to-eye, but they came together for a reason ... they are both passionate and clear about the challenges we face, and what we need to do about it ...

They are taking responsibility and want to do something about it.  They are also desperate to see 'traditional engineering' being given priority once again over 'financial engineering' ... and for such skills to be protected and developed in the future ... something well overdue ...

Traditional engineering 'creates wealth' ... financial engineering 'extracts / transfers wealth' ... (and mainly for the wealthy).

Traditional engineering tends to ' reduce trade deficits & borrowing' ... financial engineering has now dramatically increased 'trade deficits & borrowing" (with collossal amounts of tax-payers money being effectively stolen at the same time too).

Poweromics is starting to be challenged in many ways now, and more and more people who care are taking responsibility and being vocal about what needs to be done.  Tony Woodley and Sir Digby are together making a stand ... and others will be doing so too ...

We all have to ask what we want for our economy, and which will create sustainable success for generations to come ... we will also need to decide who we want to lead us ...
